The former Park Hill Golf Club was acquired for the construction of a new state of the art training facility for Leicester City FC. The sports complex was constructed by the Mclaren group in 2019-20. It was designed by architects KSS Design Group Ltd.
According to Mclaren, the facilities on the 185 acre site include :
i) 21 playing surfaces – including 14 full-size pitches
i) 499-seater floodlit main pitch
i) The Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Building – the site’s primary training, medical, and administrative hub
for the first team and academy
i) The King Power Centre – the site’s central point, housing an indoor pitch and media centre
i) Elite sports science and medical facilities including cryotherapy chambers
i) Bespoke gymnasium and hydrotherapy facilities
i) Sports Turf Academy for the education and development of industry-leading grounds staff
i) Private nine-hole golf course
