Mill Villa, or Highbury as it was later called, is a large family house built by Thomas Caloe, a prosperous corn miller and factor. It was built in 1878 and was to be the seat of the Caloe family and its extended family for the next 77 years or so. Archibald 'Arch' Edgar Ward and his wife Helen moved in to the property around 1955. 'Arch' died there in April 1975 and Helen stayed on for another couple of years. Highbury became an elderly person's residential home around 1982 catering for the needs of 15 people, and expanding to 27 in 1993.
